Check the week without rebuilding it

Start with recorded clock-on, clock-off and break sessions linked to each shift. Review the hours alongside the person and work they belong to, rather than reconstructing the week from memory.

Resolve the questions before they reach payroll

Review the time record and exception flags. Follow up missing information and check breaks before relying on the totals.

You make the pay decisions. Field gives you the records to check them against.

Prepare a file for the pay period you need

Choose your date range and export CSV or JSON for payroll handling outside Field. Check stored rates and the resulting figures before you use the file.

Any gross-pay figure is a basic estimate. Your payroll process still handles local pay rules, withholding and final approval.

Keep the source of the hours close by

Shift records, clock events and work logs give you a way to trace the recorded hours when a question comes up. Check the evidence behind the number, not just the total.

Try one pay period first

  1. Record the shiftA professional clocks on and off against an assigned shift. Breaks can be started and ended during the shift.
  2. Review the timelineManagers check paired clock events, break sessions and any location or attendance exceptions before relying on the totals.
  3. Apply the rates you storeField uses recorded hourly rates and overtime settings to produce a simple gross estimate. Missing rates can produce zero values, so check the setup first.
  4. Export the fileChoose a date range and export CSV or JSON for payroll handling outside Field.
  5. Keep the evidenceThe shift, clock events, work logs and signed work record stay linked, so you can trace where a timesheet number came from.

Treat the export as a reviewed input to payroll, not a payslip. Local awards, tax, withholding and final approval still sit outside this beta flow.

Why the export stays simple

Your business needs records you can use with its own payroll requirements. The current export brings recorded hours, breaks and stored rates together for that review.

Use the export in your existing payroll process, where you apply the pay rules and checks required for your business.

What you can use today

  • Shift-linked clock events that form the base of the timesheet
  • Break sessions with paid and unpaid types
  • Manager time review with exceptions visible before export
  • Overtime thresholds that can feed a basic gross estimate
  • CSV payroll export for date ranges you choose
  • JSON payroll response for a more structured handoff
  • Signed work records that keep the source record traceable
What it does not do yet
  • It does not produce payslips, calculate withholding or submit payroll.
  • It does not interpret awards, union agreements, country-specific penalty rates or statutory leave rules.
  • It does not push verified payroll hours directly into Xero, QuickBooks or ADP.
  • It does not lock a timesheet approval period. Review and export are available, but formal approval gates are still future work.

Who it is for

Small field teams that need a cleaner timesheet before payroll, especially where the old process is a mix of paper, messages and spreadsheet fixes.

Use it for one pay period first. Compare the export with your current payroll process before relying on it every week.

Questions before payroll day

Does Field run payroll?

No. Field records time, breaks and exceptions, then exports the data you need for payroll. The final pay decision and the payroll system stay outside Field.

What does the export include?

The export is based on paired clock events, break sessions, rates stored for the person and the selected date range. It is intended for review before it reaches payroll.

Can Field calculate overtime?

Field can apply simple overtime thresholds you configure. It does not replace local payroll rules or legal advice.

Can I send payroll straight to Xero, QuickBooks or ADP?

Not as a verified payroll-hours push. Accounting and invoice connections are separate from this timesheet export flow.

What if a clock event was saved offline?

Do not use it for payroll until it has synced and passed the server checks. Pending device records are not final records.

How much does it cost?

Free in beta. No card required. See our pricing page.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Field is free during beta, with no card required. Account setup includes accepting the applicable terms. Paid prices and plan terms will be published before anyone is asked to pay. Current pricing information.
